Getting from the Domestic and International Airports to the city centre

Taxis

A taxi rank is located on the front terminal road at the Domestic Terminal, and on the Arrivals Level 2 at the International Terminal.

Fares vary due to distance, traffic conditions and time, however, you can anticipate that a fare to Brisbane's CBD from Brisbane Airport will be approximately A$40-$50 plus a A$3.00 fee applicable to departing taxis only. Buses

Con-X-ion operates a large fleet of coaches servicing Brisbane Airport?s Domestic and International Terminals. Con-x-ion offers direct transfers between Brisbane Airport and Brisbane City/ transit centre and CBD hotels. The cost is A$20.00 per person one way.

Trains

Airtrain offers services to and from the Brisbane CBD and the Gold Coast. The cost of a one way ticket from the airport to Central or South Brisbane is $15.50 and takes 22 minutes. Trains run from from 5 am to 9.59 pm daily, 7 days per week. The Airtrain departs every 15 minutes during peak hours. Website: http://www.airtrain.com.au

 Buses: The nearest bus station is the Cultural Centre station, located on Melbourne street.
 Trains: the closest train station to the Cultural Precinct is South Brisbane, NOT South Bank. It is worth noting that Airtrain is the cheapest ($15.50 one way) and quickest way to the Domestic Airport (people have been known to miss evening flights waiting for a Taxi)

Parking: There is very limited all day metered street parking around the Gallery. All other street parking is 2 hours only, so check your location carefully. Undercover parking is available beneath the Queensland Art Gallery and the State Library for $15 per day.

Other information

Automatic Teller Machines are located at ground level entry of QPAC building, opposite QAG & Queensland Museum on the other side of Cultural Centre Busway. ATM?s are also located at the Queen Street Mall and Myer Centre in the city, and the corner of Melbourne Street and Edmondstone Street in West End.

Where to eat: Each of the Cultural Centre venues (Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland State Library, Queensland Museum and Queensland Performing Arts Centre) have in-house cafés or restaurants, all within a 5-minute walk of each other. Further dining choices can be found in the adjoining South Bank and West End precincts (10-15 minute walk), while the Brisbane CBD is also nearby (10-15 minute walk).

Climate: Brisbane enjoys a climate of vibrant summers and mild winters. Average temperatures in December range from a minimum of 20oC (68oF) and maximum of 29oC (84oF), with an average humidity of 61%. At this time of year we will be entering the rainy season.
